Unable to find a good, reliable, talented honest handyman?

We had the same problem in our property management division years ago. So we hired a full time person to perform small, simple, but important miscellaneous jobs that needed to be done on a day-to-day basis for our clients.

We uniformed the worker, gave him a pick up truck, radiophone and dispatched him in the field as needed on a work order to work order basis. Painting, stucco patching, carpentry, minor roof repairs, and repairing broken light fixtures. When he wasn't busy, we would have him wash our company cars and change light bulbs at the office. As the business grew, our clients liked the reliable, consistent service. Our services expanded to light welding, masonry, minor electrical and plumbing repairs.

Our business has continued to expand to point where last year we billed just under $1,000,000.00 in repair services. When we are in full swing, we have six men in six trucks servicing our accounts.

We separated the handyman service business from our management duties, and called the new company Southland. We became incorporated and bonded and have full workers compensation and liability insurance. In addition, we obtained a general contractor's license as the jobs got larger, to serve our growing client base.

The emerging firm was Southland Maintenance Company and General Handyman Services Inc. We specialize in servicing homeowners association and apartment complexes that prefer not to have a full time maintenance staff. On the following web pages, you will see the types of jobs we do and some of the projects we have worked on.

Most of our business is repeat business. Some of our customers have been with us 15 or more years. Often we can assign one person or a crew, as needed to service the customer or a specific job task. We really try to maintain personalized service in this area of work.
